Learning Methods

Leadership in Business World learning program will challenge participants and allow them to develop their skills. The aim is create an environment to become better leaders for themselves and their teams. The event will provide keys to catalyse high performance from their fellow colleagues. Here are some of the learning methods that will be used for this program.

Adult Learning Principles

The program will be designed according to the Adult Learning principles popularised by Malcolm Knowles.

  • The need to know. The program will integrate the needs and expectations of the participants as core of the overall learning experience. We will connect the different modules to the challenges they may face in their daily environment.
  • Learner’s self-concept. The program will provide several opportunities to choose from in term of skills to address; participants will be able develop their own learning path through the variety of offerings.
  • Build from the learners’ experience. Participants will be invited to share, exchange their best practices and learn from each other as much as from the trainers facilitating the program.
  • Readiness to learn. The program will offer life and business-centred learning experiences which should help participants improve their performances in their daily activities.
  • Inner motivation. The program will engage participants in a self-discovery path in order to foster personal development.

Evidence-Based Training Methods

Evidence Based Training is the conscientious, explicit, and judicious use of current best evidence in making decision about the development of individuals through training.

The elements of evidence in evident-based training are related to the collection of empirical data and information acquired by observation or experimentation, to guide our instructional decisions. This data is being recorded and analysed by scientists and is a central process as part of the scientific method.

In order to develop our learning program, we will use evidence-based learning methods when designing the learning experience.

Soft Skills Training

A Training is an interactive event between a trainer and a small group of people, aka trainees, with voluntary participation. There are challenges for trainees aiming at acquiring and/or improving their knowledge, skills, and competencies on defined soft-skills topics. The form and duration of a Training session is variable, and depends on the topic and how deep it is taught.

A significant part of the learning program will engage participants into training sessions with one or several trainers. They will be able to learn and put into practice new skills and competences to improve their performances in real life situations.

Experience Sharing

Participants are professionals in their fields of activities. They ran various projects, directed teams, collected failures and success that benefited them. The program will engage participants in sharing and exchanging life experiences, professional best practices and other useful pieces of information they may then put in use in their personal and professional lives.

Real Life Challenges

Participants will be challenged in many ways personally and as leaders. Along with the local community, the program will engage participants in real life business challenges.

Coaching and Mentoring

Both coaching and mentoring are processes that enable both individual and corporate clients to achieve their full potential. These practices offer a vehicle for analysis, reflection and action; which ultimately enable the individual to achieve success in one more areas of their life or work.

During the event, participants will initiate an internalisation process through coaching. The aim is to maximise the successful implementation of event’s insights in participants’ real lives.

Follow-up

Together with the participants, we will organise a follow-up system that will engage a transition of the learning into their work environment through peer support, coaching and various other methods.
